Pet Photography: Scuba The Horse

I figured that an easy way to ease into introducing one of our latest pet photography works was from The Georgia Horse’s own mascot, Scuba the horse.  Scuba is already familiar to many who have been following along for the past few years and he even has his own hashtag (#ScubaDaHorse).  The day of this particular shoot, Scuba was out in a pasture of pretty yellow flowers. It was warm out and Scuba had just rolled in the dirt, trying to cover up his white in exchange for a dusty gray color for protection from the sun.

Scuba had a hard time taking the time to breath between large mouthfuls of lush green grass.  His head was down and munching the entire photo shoot.  I love shooting pets in their daily routines, acting as if no one is even around, it seems like their personalities come out very quickly in this manner.  This is exactly what Scuba does when not being ridden; munch on grass.

Meet the Horses of Trogstad Farms

"Scuba" is an 8yo Arabian Gelding who has been with us since he was 4. He was a neglect case but now enjoys the finer things like peppermints, back massages, and prancing around the arena all fancy.

"Tyson" is a 4 year old TB gelding that never made it off the training track.  He was a starvation case and now has gained almost 400 pounds.  He is currently working lightly under saddle.
